Under the Cap and Trade Bill, the Federal Government will usurp the authority of the local governments, as it establishes federal building codes. The damage this will do to the economy is substantial. One of the defining characteristics of a free-market economy as well as a democracy is the right to private property. When the Federal government begins to trump that right, you should be VERY concerned. Why have we enabled our governmment to regulate the amount of light a light bulb can produce, the shape and size of light bulbs and fixtures, and lifespans of lightbulbs?
